MEGADETH, LAMB OF GOD, OPETH To Take Part In GIGANTOUR Softball Game

It will be bands vs. crew this Monday, October 2 when Gigantour takes a break in Norfolk, VA for a friendly softball game. The game is taking place at Norfolk, Virginia’s Harbor Park minor league baseball stadium (150 Park Avenue) on a day off for the fast and furious traveling festival, which kicked off in early September and wraps October 8.

Megadeth defends music Dawson College gunman loved

The lead singer of heavy metal band Megadeth defended his lyrics during a Montreal concert Wednesday night, saying Dawson College gunman Kimveer Gill was “not worthy of being a Megadeth fan.”

In his blog posted on vampirefreaks.com, Gill, who described himself as a huge Megadeth fan, had singled out the song “A Tout le Monde,” urging others to listen to it. He wrote in his blog that the song helped convince him to go on his shooting rampage that killed one and injured 19.

On how he spends his downtime during the traveling heavy-metal festival Gigantour:

“I do yoga, a lot of yoga. I’m doing a lot of healthy things — which I know seems like a dichotomy, for a rock star to be taking care of himself.”

On recovering from his arm injury in 2002 when doctors predicted he’d never again play guitar:

This is something I thought you Rattlehead HQ readers may be interested in being drawn to. Whilst perusing the review thread for the Toronto Gigantour at the Megadeth forums, I came across this post by user, “Eron”.

I asked dave WHEN ARE you guys gonna do a Zeppelin cover.. And he told me its ON THIS ALBUM

Seeing as Megadeth used parts of John Bonham’s drum kit on United Abominations, it may be very possible that this inspired them to cover a Led Zeppelin song.
