The following has been posted on Blabbermouth.net:

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN have been forced to pull out of their remaining Gigantour live dates because of an injury to guitarist Ben Weinman. Weinman severely re-injured his arm Sunday night (having originally injured it several months ago) during the tour’s stop in Atlantic City, NJ and was told by a specialist yesterday that he will be unable to perform until further notice.

Weinman commented, “We were enjoying playing every night as part of Gigantour, and to not be able to finish the tour is an enormous disappointment to us.”

Vancouver Gigantour, and Buenos Aires show to be recorded

Email This Story To A Friend

Dave Mustaine said recently on Eddie Trunk that the Vancouver Gigantour (with Anthrax), the Montreal Gigantour (previously reported), and the Buenos Aires Blackmail the Universe show, will all be recorded for upcoming releases.

Vancouver and Montreal will be filmed for the Gigantour DVD

Buenos Aires was supposed to be recorded for the Rude Awakening DVD in 2001, but due to September 11th activities, it didn’t. Because Dave loves Buenos Aires so much, he wants the show to appear on a Megadeth release.

Email This Story To A Friend

Blabbermouth has posted this article:

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine recently spoke to Aaron Yoxheimer of The Morning Call about Gigantour, the six-week festival trek co-headlined by MEGADETH and DREAM THEATER. Several excerpts from the chat follow:

On the need for another traveling metal festival, which arrives in Reading, PA today:

“I wouldn’t compare this to those other festivals [such as Ozzfest, Sounds of the Underground]. I’d compare it to something a little more old-fashioned and not based so much on being sponsored by alcohol companies and a lot of things that these other festivals have associated with them.

At Megadeth.com the following article is posted:

DETH TRIP - SPEED METAL HERO DAVE MUSTAINE WINS MAINSTREAM RESPECT WITH GIGANTOUR

MEGADETH founder, vocalist and guitarist Dave Mustaine is largely credited with ushering in the early-1980s speed-metal movement, adding an element of musical artistry to a genre that lacked it.

Despite this, Megadeth has never enjoyed the same level of widespread success as Mustaine’s former band, Metallica.

But with his newly minted Gigantour festival hitting Jones Beach on Tuesday and PNC Bank Arts Center on Wednesday, Mustaine is making a bid for mainstream respect.
